Investor Pass and property investment
Is investing in Paraguay real estate worth it?
Investing in Paraguay real estate can make sense, but it depends on the property and your goals. An investment property can generate short- or long-term rental income and appreciate over time, and if the investment is at least USD 200,000 for commercial purposes, it qualifies for Paraguay permanent residency through the Investor Pass. No return is guaranteed.
What to check before buying
- Location and rental demand in the area.
- Whether the property is meant for short-term or long-term rental.
- Management, maintenance and tax costs.
- Whether it meets the Investor Pass requirements, if you are seeking residency.
Investor interest
In the first half of 2026, about 140 Investor Pass certificates were issued, with around USD 31 million in committed investment, according to InfoNegocios.
